New Photos: Chinese Autos at the Detroit Auto Show

Chinese auto companies will not take the U.S by storm any time soon given the high cost of entering this market. Some like BYD and Geely (which claims to be the largest private company in China) could be two to five years away from selling their first vehicle. Their styling and technology are behind their Japanese, German, Korean and American rivals. But their cars are fuel efficient and in some cases smart looking (in others not so much). But they will get there with Chamco promising to come this year and an already-delayed Changfeng making tentative plans for 2009.
