Satellite Goes Mobile
Terry Costlow, contributing editor -- Design News, March 19, 2007
XM Radio becomes even more portable with Delphi Corp.’s Premium Sound System, which transmits Satellite Radio sound transmitted seamlessly through the Delphi SKYFi3, Roady XT, MyFi and Audiovox Xpress XM receivers. The MaxxBass DSP chip from Waves Audio Ltd., an Israeli DSP provider, helps provide large-system sound, providing bass enhancement for high sound quality even at low volumes with small speakers. The PSS includes an integrated XM antenna and handle. In addition to the various XM receivers, the $179 unit can be linked to MP3 players, providing even more versatility.
