PolySwitch(reg) family of resettable fuses are for overcurrent protection in Universal Serial Bus (USB) computers and peripherals. The PolySwitch USB resettable fuses protect against overcurrent hazards such as short circuits. The fuses help users meet USB specifications requiring overcurrent protection devices to guard against catastrophic device failures, software errors that turn on devices when the current budget has been exceeded, and user actions such as shorting-out pins while connecting or disconnecting peripherals.
