Encoder
By Design News Staff -- Design News, May 18, 1998
The micro path encoder is a non-contacting, holographic linear encoder system that allows the user to digitally select from four resolutions, the finest being 10 nm. The encoder features a read head measuring 0.9 X 0.65 X 0.5 inch and has wide alignment tolerances. Repeatability is better than 0.01 micron. Options include quadrature counters and computer interfacing. Applications include astronomy, optical recording, and IC test equipment.
