Elo Touchsystems introduced what it says are the first Universal Serial Bus (USB)-compatible touchmonitors pre-configured with the Windows 98 operating system. The monitors can be added to existing systems or networks by plugging them into the computer, without the need for loading separate device drivers. These plug-and-touch devices include Elo's 15- and 17-inch IntelliTouch(reg) Kiosk and Desktop Touchmonitors, and AccuTouch(reg) 14- and 15-inch Desktop Touchmonitors. "Users don't have to worry about resolving conflicts between the touchmonitors and the peripherals at the system's resource level," says Mike Lewis, product marketing manager, "the monitor scan eb run straight out of the box."
