System mounts pre-assembled modules

Associate Editor Rick DeMeis takes a look at recent product developments that can ease interconnection concerns

By Rick DeMeis -- Design News, February 2, 1998

Time and money are always good to save. For fast set up, the Modular Rail-mountable Connector System, Series 769, from WAGO Corporation, allows pre-assembled female modules to be plugged into DIN 35 rail-mounted receptacle terminal blocks. The plugs are available for one or two conductors (AWG 28-12) and may be assembled to any length. Coding fingers prevent mismating. Strain-relief plates, test-plug adapters, one or two pole locking devices, and mini adjacent jumpers are available. The receptacle terminal blocks come in either two-pin/two-conductor or four-pin ar-rangements. Shielded and grounded blocks are available in both configurations. Other connector system options include adjacent and staggered jumpers, markings, and both end and intermediate plates. WAGO Corporation: Product Code 4162.
