Transmitter

Latest and greatest offerings in the engineering marketplace

By Design News Staff -- Design News, February 2, 1998

Series 645 wet/wet differential pressure transmitters deliver ±0.25% of full-span accuracy and are for use with compatible liquids and gases. These controls feature wetted parts including 17-4 PH and 300 series stainless steel, Viton, and silicone rubber O-rings and seals. The transmitters employ a 2-wire circuit design with a fast-response capacitance sensor to produce a 4-20 mA output signal. Zero and Span controls are included for field calibration if needed. Series 645 is available in 14 factory-calibrated ranges.

Light Matters: A High-Performance, "No-Compromise" Solid State Lamp?
First, let's define "no-compromise". In an ideal configuration, this lamp would use a high-brightness LED (HBLED) that is built into a small, integrated package, and is able to produce a large quantity of focused light, operate with a high level of reliability and generate no audible noise. Is this difficult? Yes, but it is possible.
