Motors
By Design News Staff -- Design News, October 5, 1998
U-frame ac cast-iron motors are built with a premium Class F insulation system that has a maximum allowable operating temperature of 115C. The motors operate at temperatures 45 to 95C below the maximum allowable. This temperature difference provides a "thermal cushion" for long life in severe automotive and other industrial applications.
