Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) adheres to substrates ranging from fabrics such as polyester, nylon, plastics, and glass, targeting it for use as an inter-layer. The material "breathes" and repels water, targeting it for use as an outer layer as well. Moisture vapor transmission rates (MVTR) allow moisture to evaporate from beneath, so surgical gowns, rain gear, and other apparel keep the wearer both dry and comfortable.
