Fibre channel and 0.8 mm SCSI cable products are available in passive and active equalized cable versions. For those applications where the host complies to MIA specifications, active equalizers could be used on copper cables. Active equalizers derive their power from the MIA connection, and these cables are capable of longer operating distances than the unequalized cables.
