Expansion gib

Catalog provides information on the Spieth hydrodynamic expansion gib, used as an alternative to hydrostatic and tapered gibs for guiding machine slides. A series of grooves allows the gib to expand and eliminate clearance when under axial compression. The design also eliminates hand scraping and fitting. The gib is available for rectangular or dovetail guide surfaces.
