Rod Seal

Zurcon® L-Cup® rod seal for hydraulic cylinders offers optimized pressure distribution, back-pumping ability, and better extrusion resistance. The seal is produced through injection molding in a proprietary polyurethane, Zurcon® Z04, with hardness shore A 93. The seal can be installed in sealing systems with double-acting scrapers or in tandem arrangements with the Turcon® Stepseal® K.

Gasket

Single-piece silicon rubber sealing gasket is for keyless-entry control in sport vehicles. Molded using three different color materials, the gasket provides watertight seals for the two PCB-mounted pushbutton control switches, color-codes these switches for easy identification, and provides a transparent window for viewing the battery status LED. Belts/drive tapes

Metal belts and drive tapes have high strength-to-weight ratios, require no lubrication, operate in clean-room and hostile environments, and are thermally and electrically conductive. The products are accurate and repeatable for timing applications, are quiet, and made to customer specifications.

Stack lights

Stack lights can be reconfigured without tools in any combination of one to six light assemblies or with an alarm or strobe. The stack lights use CAD engineering to maximize luminosity and combine impact-resistant polymers, non-corrosive support posts, rubber O-ring seals, and heat-resistant housing. Changing a light bulb or the color of a lens requires a twist of the stack light.

Sensor

PicoDot^TM Class II convergent photoelectric laser sensor features a precise convergent point size of 0.25 mm at its focal distance, making the sensor suitable for applications such as semiconductor wafer mapping, miniature parts detection, and connector pin counting. Circuit breakers

M-Series line of miniature magnetic circuit breakers allows users to specify smaller-sized circuit breakers for protection, where ratings up to 25A are required. Rollnut assemblies

Guided miniature rollnut assemblies control the accuracy of actuators in critical mechanisms and are for applications requiring exact and repeatable positioning and location, such as diagnostic equipment and laboratory instruments. The guided miniature rollnut consists of a miniature rollnut screw and nut assembly modified to include a linear bearing and guide rod supported by the same end plates that secure the rollnut screw. The resultant anti-rotational device does not require an outside guide system and ensures accurate positioning.

Bearing material

BB-16 is a self-lubricating powdered metal bearing material used for heavily loaded applications. This bearing material features compressive strength and wearability, and is shock resistant. Applications include automotive, railroad, escalator, machine-tool, off-highway, and heavy equipment.

Motors

The Z26000 Series of high-volume 26-mm-diameter linear stepper motors for global applications use ball bearings and a rare-earth magnet. The motor provides a solution for linear-movement requirements for applications such as office equipment, medical devices, small machinery, and instrumentation.

Adhesive

EP31 adhesive is for high-performance applications and features lap shear strength exceeding 4,500 psi. EP31 has high bond strength to similar and dissimilar substrates, and bonds have resistance to chemicals and a service operating temperature range of -100 to 250F. The adhesive cures readily at room temperature or more quickly at elevated temperatures, and has a convenient 3:1 mix ratio by weight. EP31 is available in 1/2-pint, pint, quart, gallon, and 5-gallon kits and syringe applicators.

Cylinder

EF1 pneumatic cylinder is a compact, aluminum-extruded body cylinder for international machine requirements. The cylinder has a PTFE-impregnated, hard-anodized aluminum body for wear resistance. The cylinder also features a miniature switch that slides into a track in the cylinder body. Expected service life of the cylinder is 2,500 km. Models are available in double-acting; single- or double-rod end; and single-acting, spring-retract, or extend.

Couplings

Couplings are machined from a single piece of material into specific configurations that incorporate special design features or characteristics. The couplings use a curved-beam ("flexure") design concept that transmits torque while compensating for lateral, axial, and angular misalignment movements. The curved beam enables customer-specified end attachments to be integrated into a single machined component.

Heat exchangers

Model 727 liquid-to-air copper fin-and-tube heat exchangers measure 24 3 24 3 2.6 inches and are capable of dissipating 330W for every one degree Celsius difference between water and air entering the heat exchanger. A lightweight and durable aluminum fan shroud for mounting four fans is available. Applications include closed-loop liquid cooling required in cooling semiconductor manufacturing, processing, and test equipment, as well as cooling of lasers, electronic cabinets, industrial furnaces and ovens, and other demanding applications.

Recirculating chillers

RC006A recirculating chillers with full-PID adaptive control are for applications where tight temperature control is required. The RC006AG01 and RC006AH01 models achieve ±0.1C temperature stability and provide up to 600W of cooling in a 14 3 14 3 22-inch cabinet. The active components are mechanically isolated to minimize noise and vibration. The -G01 model is for North American electrical requirements and the -H01 is for international electrical requirements.

Pulleys

Timing belts are available in an assortment of matching pulleys, clamps, tensioners, and slider beds. Standard and self-tracking pulleys are offered in both English and metric pitch as well as flat idlers. Pulley sizes are available up to a maximum width of 180 mm and maximum diameter of 640 mm. The pulleys are available in aluminum for standard requirements, steel for high-torque applications and abrasive environments, stainless steel for high-torque applications that cannot tolerate rust, and Delrin/Nylon for applications requiring light weight and rust-free operation.

Motor

Dc servomotor is for high-speed processing applications where precision accuracy is an important factor. High-speed capability offers increased system throughput to reduce machine cycle times. The three-phase design is compatible with industry-standard servo amplifiers and servo controllers. Standard NEMA packaging in size 23 and 34 permit drop-in replacement of motors into existing stepping-motor-based systems. Replacement requires no changing of mechanical hardware, and packaging is compatible with many gearboxes, brackets, pulleys, and X-Y stages for use with stepper motors.

Thermometers

OS520 Series of handheld infrared thermometers are for non-contact temperature-measurement applications. Three models cover temperature ranges from -18 to 870C, and two laser-sighting options are available. The series is offered as either a laser dot or laser circle. The single laser dot indicates the center of the field of view. The laser circle indicates the perimeter of the field of view (Energy Zone). The thermometers also feature adjustable emissivity from 0.1 to 1.0, a backlit LCD dual display, and a 1 mV/degree analog output.

Motor

The Anoline PLMC Series ultrasonic, ceramic linear motor consists of a self-contained aluminum housing with a series of PZT elements that actuate a ceramic finger tip against a hard work surface. Features include unlimited travel, high resolution down to 5 Nm, and a speed range from 50 Nm/second to 200 mm/sec. The motor is a preloaded friction drive and does not include a magnetic field, making it immune to external magnetic fields. Applications include use in the semiconductor, micro-electronics, optics, microscopy test and measurement, biomedical, and automation industries.

Polymer monofilaments

Fabrics woven with PEEK^TM 381G polymer monofilaments are for use in medical devices, aerospace, automotive, and electronics applications. Thin and flexible fabric can be produced with pore sizes starting at 10 microns, thickness as low as 60 microns, and basic weights of 0.8 oz/yd² and up. The fabric is particularly useful in aggressive and corrosive environments where the features of PEEK polymers are required.

Encoder

Model 260 Accu-Coder^TM features a large bore and low-profile 1.16-inch package design and is for machine and motor applications. The encoder is available in a blind hollow bore and a complete through-shaft design. Both designs employ an anti-backlash flexible mounting system that allows for simple, reliable, and precise encoder attachment. Spray coatings

Self-lubricating PLASMADIZE thermal spray coatings protect against corrosion and wear. They create a non-porous, non-stick, corrosion-resistant surface, but can also be formulated to produce a "gripping" or non-slip surface. The coatings are for use in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical processing and packaging and feature self-lubricating, contamination-free surfaces. These surfaces can be cleaned with plain water. In the use of detergents or wash-down solutions, the surfaces resist the wide pH range.

Retaining ring kit

Rotor Pack® retaining ring kit contains 50 each of 20 common internal/external retaining ring sizes for a total of 1,000. Each group of 50 is taped stacked and includes the size of the ring on each. The kit contains internal retaining rings that will fit housings or bores from 3/8 inch in diameter to 11/8 inch and external rings that will accommodate shaft sizes from 1/4 inch in diameter to 11/8 inch. Rivet tool

POP® 5400 full-range, long-stroke, air-hydraulic rivet tool is for high-production rivet-setting applications. The PRT5400LS sets all commercial blind rivets up to 1/4 inch in diameter, T-Rivets, and large secondary head rivets. Joining system

Tog-L-Loc® sheet-metal joining system is for automotive components, such as aluminum, coated or plain steel, and dissimilar combinations, as well as adhesive sandwiches. No heat, sparks, or fumes are produced, so coatings are not burned away at the joining site and workers are not exposed to hazardous fumes. Controller

UT550 controller provides control capability with a large numerical display. Universal input/output enables users to set or change the type of measuring inputs, measurement range, and type of control output from the front panel. Fasteners

MetCam^TM fasteners meet property classes 8.8 and 9.8 without subsquent heat-treat operations and are manufactured from a low-carbon steel which work-hardens during the cold-forming process. A short heat-aging process helps to eliminate bending of long parts which can occur during heat-treat operations. Fasteners are available in thread sizes from M5 to M12 and lengths of 20 to 150 mm.

Coupling

The SYNTEX overload protection hub is integrated with the ROTEX GS precision coupling to provide a compact backlash-free precision shaft coupling with torque overload protection. Units are available in four sizes with several torque settings and bore sizes up to 1.97 inches. The SYNTEX interrupts flow between driving and driven sides with zero backlash and operates with minimal axial movement of masses, allowing quick and accurate reactions to spike loading on systems such as servo and feed drives.

Modules

Series AES microprocessor-based safety- relay modules feature redundant-monitoring logic circuits, positive-guided relays, and system-status LEDs. Each module checks for proper operation of a machine safety system's relays, interlock switches, sensors, and interconnection wiring. Gearmotors

Series 848, 858, and 878 heavy-duty right-angle gearmotors are rated from 1/8 to 1 hp. All have hollow hardened-steel output shafts, or solid keyed-left or right-hand output shafts or double shafts, and double-sealed ball bearings. Air compressors/vacuum pumps

Recording system

Tracer^TM real-time analysis and thermal-recording system provides complete temperature data of thermal events. In its base configuration, Tracer can record more than 5 minutes of high-resolution digital radiometric activity at up to 60 frames per second. The system senses temperature differences of 0.1C and can measure the temperature of objects from -10 to 2,000C with an accuracy of ±2% or 2C. The recording system uses off-the-shelf technology on a personal computer and its open-systems architecture allows temperature data to be exported to any analysis tool.

Light curtain

LFT protective light curtain for safeguarding on hazardous machines has a cross section of 10 3 30 mm and protected heights from 6 to 63 inches. Suitable for Type-2 protective applications, this light curtain features a versatile controller available in 24V dc or 115/230V ac and comes either DIN-rail mountable or in a sturdy housing. Communication system

Remote Interface Communication System (RICOS) integrated fieldbus terminal block for fieldbus I/O features open architecture that allows it to connect to CAN, Modbus Plus, Profibus DP, or Interbus-S. The Stand Alone (SA) Series combines terminal I/O connections and bus termination into one independent module and may only be expanded by adding another bus drop. Valve

Series 5400 control pinch valve features a centerline closure for compact size and accurate, variable venturi flow control. The heavy-duty reinforced-elastomer sleeve trim is the only wetted part of the valve. Grommets

Spring-Fast® cushion grommets are UL94V-0 rated and made of nylon-coated stainless steel with a soft polymer cushion to protect cables and wires from abrasion caused by rough edges in sheet metal and other materials. Grommets conform to any two-axis contour, and the edging snaps into place for one-step installation without adhesives. Air dryer

Balston® membrane air dryer dries compressed air to dewpoints as low as 35F at flow rates up to 200 scfm without any moving parts. The dryer can be mounted in an existing pipeline and coalescing prefiltration protects the membranes from pipe scale, other particulate, and liquids. Because it requires no electrical connections, the Balston air dryer is suitable for remote and point-of-use installations or for flammable and explosive applications including low-dewpoint instrument air, pneumatic equipment, and pressurizing electronic cabinets.

Rolling mill

ESD protection

Bussmann® SurgX® products provide protection from the damaging effects of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and are suitable for low-voltage, high-data-rate applications including telephone sets, computers, and data-processing sets. Exhibiting low capacitance and leakage, the ESD suppressers are "transparent" under normal circuit operation. When exposed to an ESD pulse, the SurgX suppresser rapidly switches to a low impedance state, thereby limiting the voltage across the protected line to a safe level.

Software

AtlasCAD software for pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders works from cylinder specifications, system requirements, or a model number to generate a hard drawing that can be transported into AutoCAD for machine design. This software is PC-based and compatible with Windows 3.X, 95, and NT operating systems. Solenoid valves

Series EAST solenoid valves are for pressure, vacuum, or drain applications. Measuring 49/16 inches high, these valves feature a flow coefficient of 0.5, an inlet pressure rating of 140 psi, and back pressure rating of 90 psi. Silicone tubing

Reinforced silicone tubing is for applications requiring enhanced kink and notch resistance. Featuring a wire, fabric, or plastic-reinforcing member encapsulated within its wall, the tubing is resistant to kinking, crushing, and notching. The tubing can be bent around a tight radius without occluding, making it suitable for esophageal and cardiac catheters. Spiral- and mesh-reinforced tubing is custom-engineered.

Latch

Rotary-action draw latch operates similarly to a standard draw latch, drawing two panels together with over-center clamping force. The latch is available in two styles: a concealed, spring-loaded version and a fixed-anchor-plate version. The concealed-spring-loaded version compensates for mounting-hole irregularities, panel variations, and gasket set, and absorbs shock and vibration to reduce rattling. A "lift and twist" action opens the latches and prevents a latch from snapping open.

Inspection system

WI-800 vision inspection system features operating-system software which runs in a Windows 95 environment and uses an icon-based graphical language and touch-screen technology. Thermostat

Model US-622 miniature, snap-action, automatic-reset thermostats are for appliance applications. Toggle switch

The 171MO is a 17-position, single-pole momentary-contact joystick toggle switch. Located in each X and Y axis and in each quadrant are two individual switches placed in-line and at a fixed distance apart. Actuation of any of the inboard switches X1, X3, Y1, and Y3 is accomplished by deflection of the operator a short distance along the desired axis. Applications include those where it is necessary to provide signals and two-speed velocity information for positioning along a single axis.

Valve

Actuators

Locating actuators are used in automotive applications to position sheet-metal assemblies prior to welding. In typical applications these actuators will deflect less than ±0.025 mm. Cylinders

Heat seal press

Model 1093 heat press with optics option is used to laminate high-resolution thermally bonded flexible ribbon connectors to LCD displays, PC-boards, Tab chips, or similar materials. The Model 1093 bonding head maximizes heat transfer from the head to the flex ribbon without stressing the ribbon. Drive system

The CYCLO in-line modular drive system is integrated with a fixed helical output stage, creating a parallel-offset gearbox assembly. A fixed-ratio bevel or worm-output stage with the ratio-sensitive CYCLO module results in a flexible right-angle gearbox assembly. Butterfly valves

High-pressure and high-temperature butterfly valves operate at pressures up to 1,480 psi/g and temperatures up to 500 degrees. Valve sizes range for 3- to 42-inch diameters. A patented, two-part seat design consists of a heat and chemical-resistant elastomeric O-ring encapsulated in PTFE or TFE and locked in the valve's body recess by a full-faced seat container. This mechanically loaded and pressure-assisted seat is bubble-tight. An off-centered disc releases compression of the PTFE and TFE seat at initial rotation.

Sensors

Valve

Mini proportional valve features a 250-Hz frequency response and less than 3% hysteresis. An isolation diaphragm separates the working fluid from the coil and armature, thereby limiting the fluid path exclusively to the poppet area. The standard valve is made of stainless steel with viton elastomeric components. With no rubbing contact surfaces, this 2-way poppet valve creates no sliding friction and can operate on a straight dc electrical signal without dithering.
